That’s A Wrap!

Raise a squeeze bottle of water with us! We officially wrapped production on The Sum of Our Parts on January 18, 2026. Aptly enough, the last scene to go in the can is the “Kelly & Roseanne Meet Cute” scene, telling the story of how Kelly and I met in a spin class in 2012. It felt right to end filming where this project began: with Kelly and I on our bikes, sweaty and laughing.

In The Sum of Our Parts, we’re telling this part through animation, in partnership with the amazing Lucy Munger, animator from Fire of Love (National Geographic, 2023 Peabody Winner & Oscar Nominee) and Dear Ms.: A Revolution in Print (Tribeca, HBO 2025).

So Kelly and I donned our best (attempt at recreating our) 2010-s era bike finery, and filmed some photo and video segments for the the future animation. It was silly, difficult, supportive, and full of things I’ve never done before: the perfect way to wrap production for this project-of-a-lifetime. (Plus: blanket forts as changing rooms!)

Many thanks to our donors who made this all possible! And to Laurent Rappaport (Trade Photography) and Post-Supervising Producer Christie Herring, who helped us capture audio on the floor of her living room.
