Roseanne and I talked a lot about this piece, which was originally called our Love Song. This track opens the film, so it needed to create a warm, hopeful, safe space, a celebration of Roseanne and Kelly’s relationship and the life they’ve built together. It accompanies a montage, so we wanted a sense of nostalgia, of joy and adventure, of memory-building. To create this, I used a lot of 60s style instruments with a Rhodes piano, Beatles-esque drums and some lovely vintage strings sheen so we felt like we were diving into a pool of beautiful memories.
